Comment:
Rina Pearl Zakay was just a ten year-old girl when the
Second World War started and the life as she knew it ended abruptly. After the
war, she went to Israel and decided to fight for the independence of the State
of Israel. After the Holocaust, she is a proud grandmother of three
grandchildren who all served in the Israel Defense Forces.This is a very touching story of survival. I'm very
proud of Rina and her incredible courage during the WWII. Also I'm very
impressed at how she could survive always maintaining her integrity. In the testimony
you can perceive many facts or events which undoubtedly involve the death of
Jews. However Rina could find a way to perpetuate her parents legacy and become
an extraordinary woman. Finally we can see that stories like this are still
having relevance and continue touching the heart of many people. At least Rina
survive the Holocaust, nevertheless her family and friends passed away.
